We had an easy going morning getting out of Dillon. We stopped in Spencer "the Fire Opal Capital". Spencer is a very small town with two fire opal shops.
While in Spencer Erik called to let me know I left my drivers licence in the hotel in Spokane. We decided the best location for Erik to send it to was Lorens house in Flagstaff AZ. After getting no answer calling Loren we called Tasha to see if she had Loren's address. Tasha didn't have the address, but she told us that Kat, who we were going to see in Salt Lake, was on her way to Idaho Falls. Even though not having my licence was a huge bummer, we would not have spent the night with Kat and her mom in Idaho Falls. Funny how thing work out.
In Idaho Falls we went to A1 auto glass to get the windshield repaired. There was a very nice couple there that recommended Granpa's BBQ. When we arrived we knew that we were going to have some great food. We were greeted by Granpa Lloyd. The food was amazing! Between the two of us we sampled, gumbo, cornbread, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese bbq beef and bbq chicken sandwiches. We could taste the love in the food. Lloyd and Loretta made us feel like family. After talking for about an hour it was difficult to leave this wonderful family business.
Next destination Reed's Creamery, where they have infamous chocolate milk (they put potato flakes in it to make it extra creamy). Yummy!!! We had ooooh sooo good ice cream cones and bought cheese snacks for the road.
We had some camera business to take care of to get photos for all of you. I got a card reader for the D100 (which I was told had a USB connection ) and even better a industrial Jobby, flexible tripod for the D100. Which is so much fun to play with. Kat was having some great fun putting it on her dog Five and her face.
Sheryl bought a new camera ...the Ashton cool pics.(ooh la la). I discovered the the card reader that I bought to get photos from the D100 had a firewall cable and it does not connect to our laptops so our only photos are coming from Ashton. Thank goodness he has joined our team.
We chatted all night with Kat and Mom Iglinski. Just the four of us ladies and three dogs. It is so comfortable here and it is hard to get motivated to leave. Thank so much for the wonderful hospitality! Here's a cute pic of Hazel Five and Kat. Aston was foggy from being in the cold car.
