Day 5 January 11, 2010

We stated our morning off by going to Tim and Dylan's Great Harvest Bakery.

They are all grown up!

(BLOG PIRATE LOPO SAYS...no time for blogging now. I am kidnapping these 2 for ransom. Please send $2,000 USD unmarked to my house.  Just kidding...its time for green chili aquilles and coffee.)

We then Headed south on I-15. From the snow covered mountains to the snow dusted desert of Utah.

Tim gave us a photo challenge to find the following cities.

Thanks Tim! We giggled like teenage boys as we drove through these towns looking for funny signs.  I was hoping to find Filmore High and then I would write in cheerleaders. He he! We did however find these great signs.

It was so warm (60) we had to strip down to our tees.  Here is Sheryl and D soaking up the sun on a doggie stop.

After an argument Marge (GPS) we returned to I-15 to make sure to hit Zion. We are so glad we did. Neither of us had been on the scenic route in to the heart of Zion and back. It was so beautiful and we recommend the scenic route to all that go this way.
(SD)- The park ranger was wearing a turtleneck and overshirt and we were sweating in out tshirts...he thought we were crazy...we had just left MT and 18 below zero weather.  Nothing like the warmth of the sunshine, desert air and red rock...heavy sigh!  Vitamin D+sunshine=feeln' great!

Here is Chanti with Demi. Erik decided we should name the D100 since we named Sheryl's new Camera Ashton. He also decided her name should be Demi because she is a little older and still sexy! Hopefully soon I will be able to share photos from Demi.

 An awesome tree Sheryl spotted.

This one is for Jeremiah.

Love the colors while the sun sets on the orange rocks.

We were dwarfed by the towering rocks.

Sheryl with her babies cruising the roadways.

We drove through the towering rocks via a 1.1 mile tunnel. There were peek-a-boo spots in the tunnel. I held Ashton out the sunroof to snap this shot while Sheryl drove, it was forbidden to stop in the tunnel.

How about some Ho-Made pies? (sd)-This should have been our sign at the bakery!

I was on the phone and Sheryl scared me by flipping around to get this photo while giggling.

It was so dark as we drove through the North AZ Navajo res. We arrived in Flagstaff AZ around 8:30 and met up with Lauren at the Beaver St Brewery. We squished Lauren into the front seat with us and ventured to the La Quinta to spend the night. It was so fun having the girly sleepover.-cd

sd- Although I was very tired it was so great to see Lopo!  She looks fabo and we had some amazing chat time.  The one thing we all agree on is when a relationship ends and we are dealing with all of those feelings we need to keep in mind that it is training for a future relationship.  Hopefully we learn from them.
